  GYNAECOLOGY PROCEDURES:

Dr. Priya is highly skilled in performing various gynecological surgeries. She offers the following minor as well as major surgeries.

  • Mirena insertion– For contraception, heavy periods, pelvic pain
  • Colposcopy and cervical biopsy– Procedure that is done to evaluate an abnormal pap smear.

Dr Priya offers the above procedures in her consulting suites in Bundoora and Werribee without the need for anaesthesia.

  • Endometrial ablation- This procedure destroys the inner lining of the uterus and is used to treat heavy periods. Suitable for women not planning any future pregnancies.

  • Hysteroscopy D&C, removal of endometrial polyps, Resection of fibroids.
  • Laparoscopy– for Ovarian cysts, endometriosis, Tubal ligation
  • Hysterectomy– Vaginal, laparoscopic, Total abdominal.

Whenever surgery is chosen for treatment Dr Priya offers laparoscopic(keyhole) or vaginal route surgeries wherever appropriate. Because these routes are associated with minimal postoperative pain, fewer adhesions, and overall better recovery both short and long term.

Open surgery through an abdominal incision is offered where other routes of surgery may pose a higher rate of complications.
